- PROGRAM DESCRIPTION & FEATURES
-
- One Line Description: :LOGICAL DEDUCTION: The Ultimate Code Breaking Game.
-
- Short Description: The ULTIMATE code breaking game! ALL the features
- you could want, including: varying puzzle length and size,
- scrolling guess history for easy reference, scratch pad for solving
- help, tournament play, not one but TWO high score boards, built in
- screen saver, and MORE! If you like Master Mind, you will LOVE
- Logical Deduction! A Game For Your Brain by Judah Warshaw.
-
- Long Description: Logical Deduction is a code breaking game in the
- classic style. A secret sequence is generated, and you must figure
- it out through logical process. You make a guess at the code, and
- receive information as to the accuracy of your guess. Based on
- this feedback, the solution can be logically deduced. The game
- will be familiar to many people, who have played both traditional
- table top and computerized versions of this game. If you love
- Master Mind, you will LOVE Logical Deduction!
-
- Logical Deduction is perhaps the ultimate code breaking game. It
- has many configuration options and extras not found in other such
- packages.
-
- There are a number of features that make Logical Deduction a cut
- above other similar programs.
-
- MANY GAME OPTIONS: Most code breaking games limit the game you can
- play, which may be too hard or too easy. Logical Deduction lets
- you set the difficulty as you like it. The secret code itself can
- be from 3 to 5 items in length. The items for the code can be
- chosen from 3 to 7. The Registered version allows for up to a code
- of up to 8 items in length, from a choice of up to 10 icons! You
- may also choose to have an item duplicated in the code or not.
- Setting the length to 8 items from a choice of 10 with doubles on
- presents a true challenge. Deducing the one correct answer will
- prove quite the task.
-
- FULL GUESSING HISTORY: Certain code breaking games only allow you
- to see your past few guesses. Once they have scrolled off the
- screen, they are lost and no longer available for review. Logical
- Deduction stores up to 1,000 guesses for the game, and allows for
- full review of all guesses made. All information is readily
- available for quick reference.
-
- EXCLUSIVE WORK AREA: Logical Deduction is the only code breaking
- game we know with this feature. It works like a scratch pad to
- help you in deducing the secret code. As you gather information,
- it will become known that certain items can not appear in certain
- places in the code. They can be so marked in the work area, and
- removed from play. A game option will keep you from guessing this
- item in that place in the future. This work area proved to be a
- favorite of testers of the program.
-
- DOUBLE HI SCORE BOARDS: Logical Deduction keeps two high score
- board for every game configuration (items in code, items available
- for code and whether doubles are on or off). Different play styles
- suit different people. Some people play to solve in the quickest
- amount of time, and will make a number of quick guesses to generate
- information. Other will play for the minimal amount of guesses,
- pondering each guess for accuracy. Logical Deduction supports both
- modes of play.
-
- PLAYER INFORMATION: Logical Deduction supports a high number of
- players. Each can have their own configuration, which is saved
- along with the player's name. Switching players is easy, and the
- game will load the new options for each player. This way the game
- can be enjoyed by many family members without having to manually re
- configure the game each time.
-
- TOURNAMENT PLAY: Logical Deduction allows for tournament play.
- Players compete in succession on the same puzzle. Options are
- chosen before the tournament starts. As with the high score board,
- dual scores are kept for the tournament.
-
- MULTIPLE ICON SETS: Logical Deduction uses graphics to represent
- the items in the code. The program comes with a number of pre made
- icon sets for use in the program. These include marbles, letters
- and numbers. Some people prefer one over the other, suited to
- their method of thinking and deducing. Choose the set that suits
- your style. As always the choice is yours. Of course, during
- tournament play, each player will use their own selected icon set.
-
- OTHER FEATURES: Logical Deduction's interface is fully mouse driven
- and is very easy to learn to use. There is also a built in screen
- saver (which can be disabled for users of other such products); the
- editor can also be disabled (so your kids don't mess up your hard
- work). The program can be run directly from a CD-ROM (the high
- score tables and configuration options will be saved to the hard
- drive).
-
- BONUS PROGRAM FREE TO REGISTERED USERS: The Logical Deduction Icon Set
- Editor & Builder! Don't like the icon sets that come with the game?
- Then create your own with the included icon editor. From here you
- can change any of the icon sets to suit your needs, or create your
- own from scratch. Not an artist? The editor can import standard
- Microsoft Windows icons of which there are literally thousands of
- such icon files available and give you an instant source of art for
- your icon sets.
-
- Logical Deduction requires an IBM-PC or compatible with a VGA
- monitor and a mouse. A hard drive is not needed but is highly
- recommended.
